holiday camp.Mirams was also responsible for a number of other classic children's series including The Terrible
Ten, Professor Poopsnagle... and Mission: Top Secret.

Skippy the Bush Kangaroo (1966 - 68)
|
|
| Good ol' Skippy! A show that to most international audiences needs no introduction - people
from all over the world took a distorted view of Australian life through the perspective of
one Skippy, that lovable and intelligent bush kangaroo! As you could imagine, Skippy proved
to be more popular overseas than in its home country. This show was recently repeated at 5:00am on Monday mornings on the Nine Network
until it disappeared again in mid 2004. The Adventures of Skippy featuring a kangaroo that didn't
really look like the original Skippy then surfaced, but you just can't beat the original. It starred
Ed Deveraux who went on to play the character of Joe in the movie They're a Weird Mob, and Garry
Pankhurst as Sonny, who in 1998 went on to manage hotels and restaurants, and was last found living
in Queensland exporting to Malaysia. What exactly did he export? Kangaroo meat! Very ironic! In 1992, the Nine Network produced The New Adventures of Skippy, which was set at a conservation
park on the Gold Coast.
