The Aunty Jack show captured the imagination of the viewing public in the early 70's using purely Australian humour to connect with Australian audiences. From this program came Norman Gunston (Garry McDonald) who would later go on to win a Gold Logie, as well as a best selling single "Farewell Aunty Jack" which reached number 1 on the pop music charts nationally.

Despite ending in 1973, Aunty Jack made a brief re-appearance in 1974 to mark the introduction of colour TV.''
