Housed within this section is an eclectic sample of some 10 years worth of effort, involving the collection of hundreds of videotapes, audiotapes and film reels in a myriad of formats, sources and time-periods plus the equipment to play them back on - as you can imagine, building up a comprehensive television archive is by no means an overnight effort.

Considering the amount of time it has taken to compile the Archive, it would be wrong if we just gave everyone direct access to the clips, so we have granted downloading privileges only to those people who have, in some form or another, made a contribution towards the Archive. We are firm in the belief that you only get out of something what you put into it and the Archive is no exception.

• For those of you who have contributed: congratulations, this online archive of clips is our gift to you! To download a clip, right-click on a link to the clip, select 'Save Target As...', then log in with your username and password (you'll only need to log in once), then download the clip.

• For those of you who have not contributed: don't worry, you can still preview the clips by browsing through our informative listings, complete with commentary and selected still-shots of the clips. If at some point you wish to be able to download the clips, you should consider reading the page on obtaining membership.
