I have decided to make a significant change to the registration system (and as a consequence, the membership rules). These changes are being made subject to clauses 1.1 and 5.1 of our Terms and Conditions (and you thought we put them up just for show!?).

The change is:

When you register, you will be required to specify what you intend to contribute to the Archive or the Archive site. If an initial contribution is not made within 30 days of registration, your account will be removed. If you have no intention of contributing or are unable to contribute, please do not register.

The change is being made for a very simple reason - in the two months that the Archive site has been open to the public, we have received 185 registrations (that's roughly 23 registrations per week). Of those 185, only 30 people have made a substantial contribution (that's 16% of all registrations), thereby gaining clip download access. By my calculation, that's 155 inactive and effectively useless accounts - how's that for a waste of server space!?

Our reasoning for the change is:

you should only register if you intend on making a contribution

The change will be implemented after April 1, 00:00 UTC - that's 10:00 AEST.

The following users, therefore, will not be removed from our user list - and James and I would like to thank the following users for making a contribution - well done:
