| Popular as a radio performer in Melbourne, Sigley made an early beginning as host on HSV-7?s ?Teenage Mailbag? in 1957. He went overseas, working as a DJ on Radio Luxembourg, before returning to Australia in the early 1960?s. He worked in television in Adelaide, eventually becoming enormously prominent as host of ?Adelaide Tonight?. He went national in 1974 with ?The Ernie Sigley Show?, with his knockabout style gaining him a devoted following, and winning him the Gold Logie for that year. After being sacked in early 1976, he continued in various variety programs, and on radio. His most recent TV effort was Nine?s ?Ernie And Denise? (1993-96), while he continues to be a very successful afternoon host on Melbourne radio.
