Southern Cross Ten was formed in 2002 by the acquisition of the following services:

  • Ten Victoria (already a part of the Southern Cross Network) - see Eight Network
  • Ten Queensland (formerly QTV, owned by Telecasters Australia) - see TNQ7 Townsville and FNQ10 Cairns
  • Ten Northern New South Wales (formerly Northern Rivers Television (NRTV), owned by Telecasters Australia) - see NRN11 Coffs Harbour and RTN8 Lismore
  • Ten Capital (southern New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory) - see CTC7 Canberra

Since then, a Southern Cross Ten service has been established as a supplementary solus ('section 38A') service throughout most of the Southern Cross GTS/BKN region, covering the Spencer Gulf region of South Australia as well as Broken Hill, NSW.

Following the recent rebranding of most of their Seven-aligned stations with their new 'star' corporate branding, Southern Cross Broadcasting have rebranded their Southern Cross Ten stations with a version of the 'star' logo in Network Ten colours. The switchover took place on 14 August 2005.
